There is a Season - Turn, Turn, Turn

My step daughter died in a car accident a week ago. It has been a time of disbelieve and pain. I would pick this piece up during some quiet times and embroider the stalks. I still have a few more on the left to complete but that should be done in the next day or so. Carla was gifted with extraordinary artistic ability although she wasn't producing much work the last year or so. She always seemed to love my art work and said she was drawn to its beauty. Two days before she passed Carla told her father she wanted to get back to her art while looking at some recent things I had done. I'm sure she's creating incredible beauty now - the likes of which none of us can comprehend.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you find continuing comfort in your sublime gift with threads and fabric. You do create such a lovely refuge! I'm sure you're right about Carla's creative efforts, and you'll probably catch a glimpse of them out of the corner of your eye when you least expect it. You will know when you recognize her gift. I wish you abundant happy memories of her, and quiet times to enjoy them as well as friendly ears with whom to share them.
