Yes, I added more layers to this painting. Now it is done - except for a decision on its orientation. No matter how it is turned I think the painting's sensibilities are the same and conveys a message of organic ancient-ness (how's that for a can't-find-the-right-words description this early morning?). Right now my leanings are towards #2, I like the 'cradle' effect...but that could change. Any thoughts out there, anyone?

hanging hardware is cheap - I'd put it on all four edges and let the piece LIVE in that position depending on the day/mood/season!

Four paintings in one :)

A living painting - a new tag line

I really like this painting. Great combination of lights and darks, cools and warms, interesting texture... I like #2 as well. In the other orientations I keep seeing a horse's head!

I like them all and I agree, allow the purchaser to choose. I like the landscape versions slightly more. :-)

I like the top orientation the best. Not even sure why, except that it "feels" right to me.
