New Tools of the Trade

Soooooo.....this is what happens when you use your new Shiva Paintstiks and new discharge paste on hand dyed fabric. Very interesting and worth further exploration. Again I ask the supreme being, the power in control and the ethereal higher energy - why aren't I wealthy enough to be able to stay home and do art all day instead of working a day job?

Aack! Denise, I ask myself that very same question all the time. I am having such trouble wanting to make art and needing to work full time. Just when I thought I would be able to scale back a little at work this coming year, more responsibility (and a very pleasing raise) come down the chute. How can we make time to do both well?

When you get the answer, please post it for the rest of us who are asking the same question. It may still be five years away, but I am counting the months until I can retire from a stressful full time job, and at least only have to work part time- hopefully at something art-related.

and the art, not to mention, is way cool. Is the grid something like hardware cloth (the heavy-ish gauge wire fencing with roughly half-inch mesh)? Way cool, I love the play of colors across the discharged area.

I have a line on a job I'm very excited about for many reasons -- not the least of which is that it's only four miles from my house so I could reclaim a boatload of time usually lost to commuting. fingers crossed...
