It's been one heck of a busy week and it's not over yet. The only creative time I've been able to carve out for myself was at gelatin printing class last night. I tried printing on silk for the first time with limited success (but there was enough possibility to continue). I don't do well in classroom environments. I feel internal pressure to produce exceptional work - my guess as to why is somehow wrapped up with a need to be validated as a real artist. So....take an insecure mind, mix it with a creative soul in a venue where people are watching and you tend to not see stellar results! Be that as it may, I do like the print above and will continue down the gelatin printing road.

I love your Evolution piece. Thanks for sharing about the workshop thing too - I often don't do at all well in workshops either but I hadn't realised why until you explained it.
Ha ha ha! I totally get what you're talking about! I loved, loved, loved my printmaking class, but I hated, hated, hated pulling prints in front of people.
That reminds me, I'm supposed to do some printmaking experiments here at home.
I loved your `small study` piece I am about to have a go at gelatin printing this weekend, so wish me luck. You underate yourself your work is superb and your article in Quilting Arts is informative ,interesting, easy to follow and I also have to get out the IPA to spritz on the paints, luckily I have it to hand as I use it daily to cleanse feet before I treat them as I am a chiropodist, keep up the great work, Pippa
