....one woman's junk is another woman's treasure. I found these at a yard sale up in the Catskills Mountains yesterday. They are very old and very cool but my husband and I can't exactly figure out what they were used for. We know bigger crocks were used for pickling and salting foods but wonder if these small bottle vessels were used to store oils, vinegars, etc. Did people bring these to the local store and get them filled? The larger crock in the forefront has the stamp 'B&B' on it. Steve said that is a brand of liquor. Perhaps this bourbon? brandy? was sold in these pottery containers? If anyone knows can you be so kind as to fill us in? We'd appreciate it.

Ohhh those are old bed urinals, the b&b is a manufacturing stamp that stood for bowel and bile ltd. ask the Kovels, I'm sure they'll verify my story!
the alcoholic B&B is brandy and benedictine.
most of the antique urinals at http://old-glass-urinals.blogspot.com/ have angled necks. I do hope your interesting vessels turn out to be something . . . else.
lol, I did not know there really such a thing and to have their own blog? Too cool. Thank you. :)
I do not know what they are but I do think they are beautiful.
I haven't had Benedictine and Brandy for many moons...sounds like a plan! Enjoy your cool bottles! Hope to see you at an Arty Tea Party soon!
