They leave us in different ways - sometimes physically, sometimes emotionally. It is part of the continuum of life. I finished this pastel painting this morning and while maybe not as technically skillful as other paintings this one has a hold of my heart.Thoughts, musings and randomness from a woman whose passions infringe on her life in the everyday world. "Yes, honey....dinner will be ready soon."

Breakdown printed silk cloth overlaid with dyed organza - with a few painted eggs. I'm toying with the idea of securing this to a painted canvas but I'm not sure. If this piece turns out well it will be go into that show I've committed to doing in March. A few textile pieces, a few pastel paintings and a few acrylic abstracts....what a hodge podge...but I'm working towards tying the whole show together with the theme title 'Glimpses'. Wish me luck.

Another abstract I did today. I like the earthiness of this one and the fact that it's a bit on the edgy side. Lately it seems as if I can't stop egg images from appearing. I suspect this is because I really feeling the sped-up pace of life as it spins by. Still so much to do and so little time to do it in. Yes, youth is often wasted on youth.

Spring
The museum suggested (if I was so inclined) to create some work for their shop with a subliminal spring time feeling. So...I thought...why not some abstracty eggs?..eggs being a great rebirth image. I painted these this morning and might try some machine stitching this afternoon. On another note, last weekend the Wallkill River School had a 'starving artists' sale and 5 of my pieces sold (!!!!). As many of you know proceeds from much of my artwork sales goes to help fund the art scholarships my husband and I have created that enables many area youngsters to participate in art programming at this school. To all of you who purchased work I thank you and send out a huge hug.
