The Little Engine That Could

I finished the top for the auction piece last night. Now I have to start quilting it tonight. Should I do some of that organic looking, swirly free motion stitching I do...or....keep it geometric? As art quilters we make a tremendous amount of decisions as our pieces are created. Each step is wrought with potential disaster or success! What if I do this? What if I had done that? Why the heck did I do that??? Ai, yi, yi.....

Will I be able to complete this by Saturday? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....

Geometric is always the safer course, and if it needs to be done by Saturday....

On the other hand, you're so skilled at the swirly stuff, and it does add so much more interest to the surface...

maybe some of each? A geometric, in-the-ditch 'foundation' then some scattered swirling as time allows?

I'm partial to rounded, softer lines on a geometric background and vice versa, but I know whatever you come up with will be great!

I think the swirlies would be a nice contrast, but it's already so beautiful you couldn't possibly do anything wrong!
