Abstract Painting and Textile Art

YES! I am loving this combination of abstract painting and hand dyed cloth in an art quilt. I hope it isn't just a passing fancy.

passing fancy or not, your enjoying the process of abstract painting and quilting together right now and that's what's important....

This is a great piece! Great combination of colors and shapes. Nicely done.

From here it's a short hope to painting directly on the fabric and skipping piecing altogether. These days I'm having a hard time cutting up the pieces that I have painted.

I meant HOP but hope kinda works.

This looks like my kind of fun, Denise.

Very interesting - reminds me of what would happen if De Kooning and Mondrian collaborated. :-) That's a good thing.

This is wonderful! Passing fancy or not you will learn something from it to bring to whatever next step you take. It is still uniquely yours!

Its taking me a while, but gradually I am clicking onto everyone's blog whose on Textile Threads. I really love these layers of abstract inmagery. (And an option to piecing could be fusing, fabric collages, unless that makes your skin crawl!
