FAMA

A cairns motif that morphed into a Garden of Eden image.....FAMA....Folk Art Modern Abstract. These pieces I'm doing may not have the sophistication of altered cloth art that features paints, foils, printing and inks but - darn - I like doing these. There's something about them that reaches deep down inside me....getting to the roots of something.

Hi Denise,

I like them too. I have always been drawn to folk art - it touches me deeply. Great work - keep doing what you like.

I can understand your feelings about them. This is simple and sophisticated at the same time.

I think you have found a great series subject and a personal style. All the glitter and glitz is great but I like just plain fabric a lot more.

I find these very strong visually. I don't view them as "folk art". They are abstract forms on a color field doing whatever it is they do :).

Denise - I love this piece. As much as your other altered quilts. I don't think you've made a piece that I don't like on some level. But these pieces that are just cloth and thread to me must be harder to do. It's like me letting go of the crackle medium...

BTW how big is this piece?
